Week Fourteen | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Studs: Tom Brady, QB, Patriots: Brady threw for 399 yards and 4 TDs, balanced the federal budget, and fixed the ozone layer Sunday afternoon. Peyton Manning, QB, Colts: Another week, another 4 TD performance by Manning, who looks ultra-comfortable in the pocket. Drew Brees, QB, Saints: The resurgent Brees re-surges again with 328 yards and 3 scores, with no INTs. Sounds sacrilegious to say it, but is this team better without Reggie? Jay Cutler, QB, Broncos: It seems like there are a lot of 6-7 teams out there, but thanks to Cutler the Broncos might actually be for real. He tossed 4 TDs with no INTs on Sunday. Matt Hasselbeck, QB, Seahawks: 272 yards and 4 TDs and for the first time all season our list of QB studs looks relatively normal. Sage Rosenfels, QB, Texans: Like I said, the stud list looks normal...and Sage Rosenfels threw for 3 TDs with no INTs in a highly anticipated showdown with Luke McCown. Trent Edwards, QB, Bills: Like I said, a completely normal Sunday in which Trent Edwards tosses 4 TD passes with no picks. Joseph Addai, RB, Colts: I thought Ray Lewis was ready? Not much in the way of yardage totals, but 3 total TDs puts Addai on this list. Selvin Young, RB, Broncos: 156 yards on 17 carries leaves many Bronco fans wishing Travis Henry had actually been suspended. Chester Taylor, RB, Vikings: Posted 101 yards and a score...on 8 carries. LaDainian Tomlinson, QB, Chargers: LT posted 146 yards, a score, and one awkward sideline moment with Philip Rivers. Fred Taylor, RB, Jags: In the week of the long-run, Taylor put up 132 yards on 18 carries, with a TD. Ryan Grant, RB, Packers: The Ryan Grant feelgood story rolls on, as he racks up 156 and a score against Oakland, who surrendered 100 yards to Riggs from Friday Night Lights last week. Earnest Graham, RB, Bucs: The importance of being Earnest means two more scores this week. Kevin Jones, RB, Lions: Finally got to carry the ball and responded with 92 yards and 2 TDs. Bills RBs: Fred Jackson and Marshawn Lynch both eclipsed the century mark this week. Anthony Gonzalez, WR, Colts: This was a breakthrough performance (134, 2 TDs) for the rookie speedster, and a harbinger of things to come for Colts fans. Lee Evans, WR, Bills: Thats L.E.E...yeah, he played at Wisconsin, has been in the league a few yearsÉand he scored twice this week. Plaxico Burress, WR, Giants: 7 catches for 136 yards and a score, for a player whose healing powers must be bordering on miraculous. Brandon Marshall, WR, Broncos: 10 catches for 115 yards and 2 scores for a guy who is officially for real. Jason Witten, TE, Cowboys: 15 catches, for 138 and a score against a Lions defense that just never adjusted. Mike Martz, OC, Lions: For finally letting Kevin Jones run the ball (see: Kevin Jones). Duds: The Carolina Panthers: Ive said it before, but this might be the worst 5-win team in NFL history. There was absolutely nothing of fantasy value accomplished by any Panther this week. Vince Young, QB, Titans: Got back on track this week with 121 yards and 2 INTs... Brodie Croyle, QB, Chiefs: Not exactly making the most of his starting opportunities, Croyle was mediocre again, going for 132, a score and a pick. Kellen Clemens, QB, Jets: See not doing much with opportunities above. If there was ever a secondary to shred, it was the Browns. John Beck, QB, Dolphins: Stayed in the lineup long enough to fumble and throw for 6 yards. Laurence Maroney, RB, Patriots: 8 carries for a scintillating 18 yards for a team that doesnt appear to need a running game at all. Willis McGahee, RB, Ravens: What Willis is talking about, is 17 carries, 45 yards, and no scores. Kolby Smith, RB, Chiefs: Receives this weeks Rudi Johnson Yards Per Carry award, with 13 carries producing all of 12 yards. Adrian Peterson, RB, Vikings: His presence in uniform was a tease, but in reality he had 3 yards on 14 carries (see: Rudi Johnson Award). Frank Gore, RB, 49ers: 16 carries, 68 yards. Yawn. Edgerrin James, RB, Cardinals: 13 carries, 46 yards for a guy who has more gold teeth than he has TDs this season. Shaun Alexander, RB, Seahawks: For those of you who had really missed his 38 yard, no TD performances. Justin Fargas, RB, Raiders: The years other notable Bad RB Makes Good story derailed a little bit this week, as Huggy was held to 57 yards with no TDs. Santonio Holmes, WR, Steelers: 1 catch for 13 yards. Sidney Rice, WR, Vikings: 2 catches for 21 yards, for a guy who was just getting reliable.
