Baltimore at Cleveland

Studs:
Jamal Lewis, RB, Browns: The fact that he topped 60 yards and scored against the Ravens D makes him a stud in my book.

Derek Anderson, QB, Browns: Brady who? Another 200+ 2 score game.

Duds:
Todd Heap, TE, Ravens: Only 4 catches for 36 yards on the day.

Chicago at Detroit

Studs:
Jon Kitna, QB, Lions: Has done a lot this year, and is doing it all without a running game. Kitna went for 247 and a couple of TD’s. Remember when he was a washed-up journeyman?

Duds:
Tatum Bell, RB, Lions: Another meager yardage week, and Kevin Jones scored the rushing TD.

Cedric Benson, RB, Bears: Only rushed for 50 yards against a team that typically makes opposing backs look great. The Bears are beginning to realize what many of us have known for a while Benson is simply not good.

Green Bay at Minnesota:

Studs:
Brett Favre, QB, Packers: Breaks the all-time record for TD passes, adding 2 more to go with 344 yards.

Duds:
Packer Running Game: Deshawn Wynn: 20 yards. Vernand Morency: 2 yards. Lacking this aspect of the offense will catch up with this team, eventually.

Houston at Atlanta

Studs:
Joey Harrington, QB, Falcons: Again, I can’t believe I’m typing this, but Joey the mere presence of Byron Leftwich on the roster has the Piano Man playing like a worldbeater. Joey notched 223 yards, 2 scores, and no INT’s.

Michael Jenkins, WR, Falcons: Waiver-wire fodder in most leagues, Jenkins caught the aforementioned 2 TD’s.

Duds:
Falcons Backs: Both Norwood and Dunn are good players, it seems, but neither are getting it done from a fantasy perspective this season.

New York Jets at Buffalo

Studs:
Trent Edwards, QB, Bills: Tossed a TD pass and, more importantly, resurrected Lee Evans.

Marshawn Lynch, RB, Bills: Seems good for about 79 yards and a TD every week...come to think of it, that’s what he had this week.

Duds:
Thomas Jones, RB, Jets: Managed only 35 yards and no scores.

Oakland at Miami

Studs:
Daunte Culpepper, QB, Raiders: Count me among those who thought Daunte was washed up. He responded with 5 scores (3 rushing, 2 passing) and my opponent used him to destroy me this week. Not that I’m bitter.

Justin Fargas, RB, Raiders: Here comes the obligatory Huggy Bear referenceÉactually his kid looked really explosive, rushing for 179 yards. Fargas’s problem has been health.

Ronnie Brown, RB, Dolphins: The good news, Ronnie Brown continues to awaken (134 and a TD). The bad news? The Dolphins still suck.

Duds:
Trent Green, QB, Dolphins: Tossed a couple of INT’s and couldn’t find Chris Chambers. Might be time to consider plucking John Beck off your waiver wire, as this season is quickly becoming a ‘rebuilding year’ for the Dolphins.

St. Louis at Dallas

Studs:
Patrick Crayton, WR, Cowboys: Went for 184 yards and 2 scores, infuriating T.O. and his fantasy owners in the process.

Duds:
The Rams: Bulger was horrible again, along with the rest of the Rams, who look a lot like Notre Dame at this point.

Seattle at San Francisco

Studs:
Matt Hasselbeck, QB, Seahawks: Was efficient if not spectacular, throwing for 281 yards and 2 scores to go with one INT.

Duds:
Alex Smith, QB, 49ers: Knocked out on the third play of the game, Smith’s stat line was null and void, and he’s already been ruled out for next week.

Tampa Bay at Carolina

Studs:
Earnest Graham, RB, Bucs: Scored again, and got roughly half the carries in the Bucs win. It looks like Graham will be a factor from here on out, depending on the severity of Cadillac’s injury.

Duds:
Steve Smith, WR, Panthers: Working with David Carr doesn’t help, but Smith disappointed for the second straight week, posting 32 yards and failing to hit paydirt.

Denver at Indianapolis:

Studs:
Peyton Manning, Joseph Addai, Dallas Clark, Colts: Manning tossed 3 scores, Addai looks like the best RB in football (136 and a score) and Dallas Clark found the end zone twice (and is still healthy).

Duds:
Jay Cutler, QB, Broncos: Cutler had 131 yards, a score and a pick, but failed to reasonably involve any of Denver’s receivers in the passing game. Their leading receiver was blocking TE Daniel Graham.

Kansas City at San Diego

Studs:
LaDainian Tomlinson, RB, Chargers: Finally had the game his owners have been waiting for, rushing for 132 and a score.

Larry Johnson, RB, Chiefs: See above, as Johnson breaks the century mark for the first time this season. He did, however, fail to find the stripe.

Dwayne Bowe, WR, Chiefs: It is an odd site for Chiefs fans, to actually see a wide receiver producing. Bowe had another huge day, going for 164 and a TD.

Duds:
Philip Rivers, QB, Chargers: Clearly quarterback guru Norv Turner has done wonders for Rivers, who had no scores and 2 INT’s.

Pittsburgh at Arizona:

Studs:
Santonio Holmes, WR, Steelers: It seemed like nobody else caught the ball for the Steelers, but then again nobody needed to, as Holmes went for 128 yards and 2 scores.

Duds:
Willie Parker, RB, Steelers: Managed only 37 yards on 19 carries.

Philadelphia at New York Giants

Studs:
Plaxico Burress, Giants: His catch and yardage totals were pedestrian, but Plax found the end zone again, giving him 6 TD’s on the season.

Duds:
Eagles Wideouts: The Eagles top two receivers on Monday Night? Correll Buckhalter and Brent Celek. Woof.

New England at Cincinnati

Studs:
Randy Moss, Tom Brady, Sammy Morris, Patriots: The early-season performance of Randy Moss is astonishing to those of us who wanted him to be washed up and done. He’s on pace to score 28 TD’s and catch 124 balls. Now that he has NFL wideouts, Brady looks more and more like Peyton Manning, and Morris got the yardage and TD’s that Laurence Maroney owners were counting on on Monday night. Thanks Bill (see below).

Duds:
Bill Belichick, Laurence Maroney, Patriots: Belichick continues his commitment to screwing fantasy owners by playing the cloak-and-dagger injury game with Maroney, in addition to pulling him out on the goal line. Owning Maroney is like owning a Mike Shanahan back when it’s good, it’s really good. When it’s bad, it really sucks.
