Northcoast Sports Database Help Page
The Northcoast Database is a great tool for finding scores, lines, results, etc for your favorite college football teams. There are a number of sites out there that provide researched data but do not allow you to perform complex searches on your own. There are sites that allow you to perform simple searches, but nothing really worth while.Enter the NCdatabase. We have tried to make it a very straight forward and simple to use tool, but there still could be some questions that our customers have. For that reason we will try to address a few key issues below. But to get the best answers, just call us and we will be glad to assist you. Now we won't be able to perform searches for you, but we can answer questions on how certain aspects of the DB work. OMIT: One of the first things you might notice is that many fields have an "Omit" check box next to it. This allows you to get results that will NOT inlcude the item(s) that you have checked to "Omit". For example if you want to find how Bowling Green State Univ does on grass but omit all games played VS Akron, then you would pull down the Team menu to Bowling Green, dot the Grass bullet, pull down the Opponent menu to Akron, and finally check the Omit bullet next to Akron. GAME DATA: This is probably the most important thing to understand about our database. There are 117 current Division IA teams. Some teams have come into Div IA while others have left. Some teams play outside of Div IA and dip down into Div IAA in the early part of the season each year. This database only had complete data on teams while they are in Div IA, so a team like South Florida only has data going back to 2000 when they entered Div IA. That does not mean that they didn't play before in Div IAA or Div II. Also, if they played a Div IA team before then, then we do have those games in our DB from 1980 and foward.
